OVERVIEW

This course in Airport Security provides participants with an understanding of the role of the airport in aviation security. Through exploring key security concepts and best practices, this course also supports participants to identify mitigation measures that are appropriate to their own airport’s threat environment.

On completion of this course participants will be able to:

• The course is meant to impart on you a deeper understanding of the current security measures and technologies employed at airports globally, legislation and recommended practices relevant to airport security, Recognition of best practice for airport and airline security programmes and security committees, methods of risk assessment and mitigation that are most appropriate for their airport environment, Understanding how to promote and maintain a positive security culture across their airport, the requirements and options for security training, screening techniques that can be used at airports, requirements for effective quality control and management systems, Analysis of appropriateness of different methods for conducting security audits and inspections and perception of best practice for responding to security incidents

COURSE CONTENT

The ACI Certificate in Airport Security consists of the following nine modules:

   2. Basic Security Measures
   3. The Structure of Aviation Security
   4. Understanding Threat and Risk Assessment
   5. Security Technologies and their Capabilities
   6. Human Factors, Security Culture and Training
   7. Additional Screening Techniques
   8. Quality Assurance and Quality Management
   9. Security Incident and Response

ASSESSMENT

This training course includes an integrated online learning review.  Candidates must successfully complete the learning review to receive a Certificate of Completion.

QUALIFICATIONS

The Modules which are aligned up with innovative materials including the Practical Training Attachment (PTA) to each course which is conducted, supervised and completed by our local partner institutes.  This practical methodology of simultaneous Dual System (Practice and theory) is being practiced by F+U International University of Cooperate Education our partner institute here in Heidelberg, Darmstadt and Berlin, Germany. These provisions are being made possible through the efforts of the European Commission Funding Programmes (Capacity Building in the field of Higher Education for emerging economies / EDULINK I & II, ACP Science and Technology, Erasmus Mundus etc.  As a result of the years of focused academic and training co-operation between the German Academic Institute, and other EU-Higher Education, Vocational & Continuing Educational Training Institutes, qualified applicants will be awarded a German Academic Institute Professional Certificate (GAIPC) in cooperation with a participating local partner institute.
